We avoided Mother’s Day and met on a special 3rd Sunday, experimenting with a combo in-person and hybrid meeting on zoom. We were probably half & half zoom and at the Lucky Lab, and (speaking as one who called in on zoom) there were definitely pens being passed around that those of us online could only drool over from a distance.
Your fearless blogger missed most of the action, calling in from Philly and sad to miss the in-person action, but did walk away with EXCITING NEWS that Oblation is hosting Kirk Speer from Pen Realm for nib grinding events all weekend. I will take the liberty of quoting their website:
Friday, May 20th to Sunday, May 22nd:
Kirk from pen realm is visiting oblation to offer fountain pen nib grinding! each grind will take about 10 minutes, with an option to grind 2 pens for each customer, where he allows 30 minutes. come and watch the process! signups will be first-come-first-served each day. email retail@oblationpapers.com or call 503.223.1093 with any questions.
